Conservatorio55 – Total renovation of a penthouse in a rationalist building of the 60’s, located in the historic center of Rome.
The concrete of pillars and beams were deliberately brought out bare to main feature the strength of the structure, providing an industrial aspect, neutralized by the natural oak planks flooring. In this contrast-dialogue, the pastel walls become a neutral connecting element. The pillars become also a support to the dining room and the kitchen, both handcrafted and made of steel, are deliberately suspended in order to feature the passage of light, given by the wide windows. The wardrobe, the skirtings, the sideboars and the light fixtures are just custom-made by re-using salvaged materials and items.
Turn-key project.
